The smoky Big Peat Whisky from Douglas Laing is created from several Malt Islay Whiskies like Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen. It is bottled without coloring or chill filtration. While the Caol Ila provides a light sweetness, the Port Ellen adds a nice degree of elegance. The Ardbeg is responsible for the earthy note and Bowmore finally provides the perfect balance. Thus the Big Peat Whisky takes the connoisseur on a multi-layered pleasure trip across the Islay Islands. In the nose it appears typical Isly with peat smoke and fine sweetness. The taste is smoky, also with a slight sweetness and a soft, spicy finish.
For lovers of smoky whisky, it is an ideal companion for a glass later in the evening, preferably in front of the fireplace.
