With the Sir Edmond Gin, the Dutch producer Sir Edmond honors Mr. Edmond Albius, who discovered the manual pollination of vanilla on the island of Réunion and thus made its cultivation possible. Ingredients from around the world are used in the production of Sir Edmond Gin: Juniper berries from northern Macedonia, angelica root from Greenland, cardamom from Guatemala, ginger from Nigeria and cinnamon from China. But the most important ingredient is Bourbon vanilla, which comes from Réunion and is marinated in the distillate for several weeks, giving it its unique flavor.
On the nose, Sir Edmond Gin smells sweet, with tones of vanilla, juniper and a hint of citrus. On the palate, floral aromas make themselves felt, which in combination with spicy notes of cardamom, pepper, angelica create a wonderful blend. Not to be forgotten is the sweet vanilla that gives the palate the unmistakable touch. The finish is long and pleasant, somewhat earthy with a hint of ginger.
