The Cask Islay Single Malt is a peated whiskey, which is produced without chill filtration. For its maturation, only selected ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry hogsheads casks are used. The Cask Islay Single Malt is produced in small batches, with careful attention to ensuring that each batch is of the same high quality.
In the glass, the Cask Islay Single Malt appears golden in color, reminiscent of a sunset. On the nose, one smells smoldering peat kiln, coupled with warmth, fire and smoke. After this first impression, unexpected fresh citrus notes make themselves known. On the palate, the Cask Islay Single Malt is intense and slightly oily, with flavors of fresh orange and honeyed malt notes paired with juicy barley and burnt toffee. This is joined by a rich peat smoke. The finish is long-lasting and smoky.
