The aromatic Glendalough Calvados XO Cask Finish is aged for three years and one day in first fill ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. This is followed by a one-year finish in French Calvados XO oak casks, in which a Calvados was previously allowed to mature for six years. Each label of the Glendalough Calvados XO Cask Finish bears the detailed bottle and cask number.
On the nose, the Glendalough Calvados XO Cask Finish is floral with tones of vanilla, honey and fruit. On the palate, flavours of butterscotch, toffee and stewed apples and pears make themselves felt, paired with cinnamon and honey. The finish is reminiscent of green apple peel and spicy oak flavours.
The Glendalough Calvados XO Cask Finish is a very aromatic whisky that will be remembered for a long time.
