Like all Guadeloupe rums, Damoiseau Vieux rum is distilled from fresh sugar cane juice. After distillation, it is matured for at least 6 years in oak barrels, which gives it its distinct aroma of smoke and wood tones. The Damoiseau Vieux XO, however, exudes an equally mild and fine aroma of fresh exotic fruits and Caribbean flowers, complemented by the noble vanilla notes resulting from the barrel ageing. A hint of dark chocolate perfects the overall sensory impression, which leads to a long and very fine finish.
